The Undergraduate Affairs Committee (UAC) accepts proposals for changes to the IU Indianapolis General Education Core each fall.
A proposed course will be replacing an existing general education course taught by that school and/or division in the same general education domain, which will be removed from the core provided the newly proposed course is approved for the core.
Each school and/or division can propose at least one replacement (swap), but no more than 10% of their total general education courses. (Being mindful of programs with highly prescribed curricular requirements, units should take care not to remove required courses that some programs rely on to simultaneously meet general education requirements.)
