Tradara McLaurine appointed senior executive director of Campus Career and Advising Services

Tradara McLaurine has been selected as IUPUI’s senior executive director of Campus Career and Advising Services.

McLaurine, who will begin her role with IUPUI on Nov. 1, will lead campuswide initiatives in career services and academic advising, including training and professional development, technology adoption and utilization, outcomes assessment, and internship best practices coordination. She will also provide strategic oversight for the advising and career education units within University College, including the Office of Academic and Career Development, the Office of Student Employment, the Center for Transfer and Adult Students, and the Life–Health Sciences Internship Program.

“Tradara brings a track record of success in advancing data-informed, collaborative, campus-level initiatives that improve the undergraduate student experience and prepare them for success after graduation,” said Matthew Rust, assistant dean of University College. “I’m confident that Tradara will develop creative new ways to support the integrated work of our academic advisors and career services professionals who are so critical to our students’ success.”

McLaurine recently served as the executive director of the Career Center at Indiana State University, where she implemented the campus’s First Destination Survey, oversaw adoption of the Handshake career services management system, led overhauls of the student employment system, and partnered with local K–12 schools, employers, and community organizations to ensure career services were relevant to the local educational and workforce ecosystem.

Prior to her roles with the Indiana State University Career Center, she served as an assistant director and academic advisor with the Ivy Tech Community College campus in Terre Haute. McLaurine’s background also includes experience teaching courses in student success, service learning, and career development. She has been actively involved with community and professional organizations, such as Junior Achievement, Career Development Professionals of Indiana, and the National Student Employment Administrators.
