Indianapolis, IN (April 2015) – IUPUI University College will celebrate student and faculty successes at the fourth annual Spring Awards Convocation at Hine Hall on Friday, April 10, 2015 from 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. This year’s convocation theme is “Global Citizenship.” IUPUI Chancellor, Charles R. Bantz, will be the keynote speaker at the event.
Student awards will be presented in the following categories: Evenbeck Scholarship Mentor of the Year awards, University College First-Year Seminar Outstanding Student awards, and University College department awards. These awards recognize student perseverance in pursuing their educational goals as well as efforts they engage in as global citizens to promote positive change in the lives of others. Special recognition student awards are the Chancellor’s Scholar award and the Christine Jakacky Mentor of the Year award.
Other special recognition awards include the Academic Advisor of the Year award, Barbara D. Jackson Outstanding First-Year Student Advocate award, Tonja Eagan Faculty Service award, Trustees’ Teaching award, and the Friend of University College award. These awards recognize faculty, staff, and community dedication to IUPUI.
The convocation will be followed by a reception, which includes musical guest Joel Tucker playing the acoustical guitar, and professional photography opportunities.
