Professional Experience

  • Tenure with the Office of Academic and Career Development: I started my role in September 2024
  • Favorite part about the work you do: The staff that I work with care so deeply about the needs of the student, so I enjoy that I get to help provide both staff and students learning opportunities that leads to future professional and academic success.
  • Past jobs and experience: I spent the majority of my professional career as an academic advisor and gradually moving up rank as I progressed in years. Prior to advising, I held a couple jobs in the education field including working as a hall director and an early childhood education teacher. Prior to graduating college I worked a number of places including working in college admissions, as a resident advisor, and as a summer camp counselor.

Advice to students: My biggest piece of advice is to stay optimistic about what you can achieve. As a student, you got into college, so we can see that you are capable of hard things. College is an opportunity to craft your journey. With being open and intentional toward your goals, using resources, and understanding your strengths and limits, achieving your dreams can be a reality.

If you could be any major in your cluster, what would it be? Why?
I would major in health service management to then try to work as a hospital administrator, medical office manager, or somewhere is health care administration. Since I like policies, organizing, and communicating with people, I could see myself doing that in the health care scene.

Biography: I was born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan and transitioning in adult life lived in a total of four states: Michigan, Arizona, Texas, and now Indiana. You can say that I am not afraid to try new things. I live that way in all aspects of my life. Outside of work, if I am doing something by myself, that would include singing, dancing, acting, creating art, writing creatively, reading, or going on a walk to be in nature. However, since I am a people person I love to get with community to talk and do things like go to a museum or musical, play a board game, or watch or play a sport. In general, I try to be a good person and in the process, make the most out of life.
