Course proposals should be submitted through the CARMIN system as detailed in these instructions. The deadline for submitting course proposals is November 30.
For each course, a proposal form and a syllabus should be uploaded for campus reviewers. On the proposal form, programs should stipulate learning outcomes for the course and align them with the relevant Principles of Undergraduate Learning and Indiana Statewide Transfer General Core Competencies.
Proposals of new courses to the IUPUI General Education Core are reviewed once annually.
A plan for assessing learning outcomes also should be advanced. Reviews will generally be completed by March 30 each year to provide time to update advising materials and degree maps in advance of new student orientation.
Procedures for continued review and approval of courses to the IUPUI General Education Core are currently under development by the Undergraduate Affairs Committee.
